Open calls for speakers

A call for papers (or call for proposals, call for speakers) is how a conference collects talk ideas. You send a title, an abstract and a short bio before the deadline; the program committee picks the talks and tells speakers a few weeks later. cfp.fru.dev lists the calls that are open now for data, AI and developer conferences, sorted by deadline.

The table on the home page is every open call on file, soonest deadline first. Filter by topic (AI, Data, Databases, Kubernetes, Security and more), by format (in person or online) or to calls that cover travel.

Some do. Community conferences often cover a free ticket only; larger ones cover travel and a hotel for speakers who need it. cfp.fru.dev shows support only when the call itself states it, and marks the rest as not stated.

Use Add to calendar: Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook can subscribe to the feed, which updates when a deadline moves. Every call also has its own one-event calendar file.

The organizers’ own call pages (and their Sessionize, PaperCall or pretalx pages), the confs.tech open conference list on GitHub, and Events (events.fru.dev) for conference details. A weekly check on Wednesdays looks for new calls and moved deadlines; anything found automatically is marked Unverified until a person checks it.

Every call has Suggest a correction, and the lists have Suggest a missing call. Each suggestion is checked against the call page before anything changes, and every change is kept in the Changes log.
